Vertigo Rehab / Dizziness

A woman undergoing vertigo rehabilitation in Baltimore, MD

Do you have chronic or sudden spells of wooziness or dizziness? Is it difficult to focus and perform small tasks? If so, you may be suffering from vertigo. And you are not alone. Nearly half of all Americans will experience vertigo in their lifetime. Millions of Americans suffer persistent vertigo. And vertigo is more common for people 65 years of age or older. But you don’t have to suffer from vertigo. At Peake Physical Therapy, we offer vertigo rehabilitation for our patients right here in Baltimore, MD.

Vertigo symptoms can include imbalance and foggy thought. The symptoms may persist or come and go in short spurts. If you suffer from vertigo, it may be because you have a problem with your vestibular system. Your vestibular system is located in your inner ear. It is responsible for your balance. When the vestibular system degenerates with age or is injured, it can adversely affect your balance and concentration. You might also somewhat lose your sense of depth perception.

Fortunately, with vestibular rehabilitation, we can help you get firmly back on your feet. Vestibular rehab, a form of physical therapy, has proven to be an effective vertigo rehabilitation treatment. We essentially ‘exercise’ your vestibular system to get it to heal itself and relearn cognitive function.
