Pregnancy & Postpartum PT

Postpartum PT with Baby

If you are struggling with pain, discomfort, or other women’s health issues after child birth, you may be a candidate for pregnancy and postpartum PT. Issues may include incontinence, pelvic or lower back pain, menopause, or other pregnancy and post-pregnancy complications.

With physical therapy, we evaluate the source of your issue. We then use evidence-based therapies to promote faster healing and pain relief. Your entire pregnancy and postpartum treatment may take just a few weeks to a few months. The number and frequency of needed sessions varies patient-to-patient. It will depend upon the complexity of your condition and overall health. But overall, we see very positive outcomes and high patient satisfaction rates with our patients.

In many cases, you may only need to see a physical therapist. For other cases, you may need to see a medical specialist. This could include an OB/GYN doctor, your primary care physician, or urologist. In either case, we’ll make sure you have coordinated care.

Pelvic Floor PT

A woman’s body goes through a lot of changes during pregnancy. But pelvic health isn’t just for women. All people have a pelvic floor and can benefit from pelvic floor PT.

Insurance

Most insurances cover pregnancy/postpartum physical therapy. Please get in touch with your provider for coverage details. Or contact our office, and we are happy to guide you through the medical billing process and requirements.
