When do you need physical therapy?

Maryland is a ‘Direct Access’ state. This means you can see a physical therapist for first line of care without a doctor’s referral. Our PTs have their Doctorates in Physical Therapy which allows them to evaluate patients for a wide range of medical conditions. In many cases, PT is an appropriate treatment option form many neuromuscular medical conditions. But our PTs are also trained to know when therapy is not the appropriate or sufficient treatment option. In that case, we can refer you to the appropriate medical specialist.
