Shoulder, Elbow & Hand Pain

Woman exercises but may have shoulder, elbow, or hand pain

Do you suffer from shoulder, elbow, wrist, or hand pain? If the pain seems to originate at the joints, you may be a candidate for physical therapy. At Peake Physical Therapy in Baltimore MD, we have the tools and expertise to evaluate the source of your pain and then prescribe an optimal recovery plan for you.

There are many things that can cause joint pain. This can include a traumatic injury, wear and tear of the joint over time, or a degenerative disease. If your medical issue is severe enough, you may need reconstructive surgery. Otherwise, most cases of shoulder, elbow, wrist, or hand pain can be alleviated with physical therapy.

Physical therapy employs movement and exercise to improve blood flow and activation of the joint. This will allow your joint to heal faster. Strengthening can help stabilize the joint. In addition, your physical therapist is trained to watch your form and range of motion. He or she can then prescribe suggestions to improve your form and posture to prevent future injury.

In addition to PT, we have other technologies to augment your rehabilitation. This includes Astym Therapy and Shockwave therapy. These treatments are especially effective for addressing joint pain issues.
